Thank you for visiting my blog today. Originally it was started in 2006 as a way to chronicle our overseas adventure, but it has turned into a place where I share my heart after my husband's untimely death at the age of 40. You can read more about his brief, but fierce battle with a rare cancer on his caring bridge site: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/rob_murphy.

physical therapy and doggie haircuts
March 1st - Rob begins physical therapy. They put this contraption on the end of his bed and it becomes a recumbent bicycle. She wanted Rob to do 10 minutes, but after 10 Rob asked, "Can I keep going?" It just felt so good to be physical again! She aslo had this big rubberband type thing that she tied to the post behind his bed and had him work out his arms. He could definitly feel the weakness, but was happy to be making strides toward GETTING OUT OF BED! This is also a good sign - we think - that the Dr's must think the tumor is shrinking. They wouldn't allow Rob to get his heart rate up at all because of the dangerous location and blockage caused by the tumor.
(below - Rob's after workout cookie that Sarah made. She made about 4 dz. cookies for me to take to the staff, but set a few aside for Daddy)
Rob usually shaves Phantom, so with him unable to I needed to seek out an alternative. After I posted a message on facebook about looking for a groomer - the breeder who sold us Phantom, here in Germany, responded that she would love to help us out. This "before" picture is of Phantom and HIS MOM, Viva!
Phantom, back at home, all shaved and handsome! Sorry about the quality of the photos, it's just been easier to use Noah's little Kodak camera rather than to lug around my big Cannon!
