Thank you for visiting my blog today. Originally it was started in 2006 as a way to chronicle our overseas adventure, but it has turned into a place where I share my heart after my husband's untimely death at the age of 40. You can read more about his brief, but fierce battle with a rare cancer on his caring bridge site: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/rob_murphy.
We look forward to the pinewood derby every year!! Unfortunalty Daddy was too sick to attned, but Micah was hopeful with the Landspeeder car they had worked on together. Micah's car didn't place last, but not in the top 3 either, although it DID WIN for Judge's choice! It was a pretty cool car. All the bears in my den who participated has a great time.
Klondike is a yearly Boy Scout campout that happens in Kanderstag, Switzerland. It is usually over the long weekend in January. The boys participate in challenges and contests, and there's always a day for outdoor wintersports like skiing or sledding. Noah always chooses sledding, but it's not sledding like you're thinking - they actually take a SKI LIFT up to the top of the mountain and sled down for about 15-20 minutes going at outrageous speeds. This year Rob agreed to be one of the drivers for the boys and so he got to go as well. He started getting sick, but still managed to get these few pictures and make it once down the hill on a sled.
Spending New Years Eve at the Briggs house is one of our absolute FAVORITE traditions. We have such a great time together. There's always such yummy food, games, movies, picture taking, dog scaring, and OF COURSE - FIREWORKS. This year Eric and Rob went all out and we lit off SO many fireworks. We also managed to get the above photo of ALL of US in one place, at one time, and with a timer on a camera! We're improving, here's to many more!
