Happy Thanksgiving, on Wednesday

Since we are leaving for Holland (for an irish Dance feis) early Friday morning we decided to celebrate Thanksgiving a day early. We had a BIG dinner at our friend's house. It was a great time of eating, visiting, and eating. The older girls still had one last dance practice to get in, but while they were gone the other kids had a great time watching movies, playing video games, and hanging out. So, what will we be doing on the ACTUAL thanksgiving? Packing, eating left overs, cleaning, packing ect.... you get the idea.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

First Season's Snow

Our first snowfall was a little earlier this year! The boys got out early and played until they were soaked! Sarah missed out on the snow because she was at a dance practice all morning, and by the time she got home the snow was all melted. Rain in the forecast for the next few days, but hopefully this first snow before Thanksgiving is a sign of good things to come!! The first picture is where my backyard looks out onto the farmer's field behind us. I love this scene with the dilapidated little shack and forest.

Twilight

To say we are obsessed with these books brings up negative imagery... so, let's just say that we are very involved in the series, and we were terribly, terribly aware that there was a movie being made based on the first book in the series. Sarah read them first, and then I followed suit. I talked about the books, and in honestly trying to detour people from reading them actually dragged others down with me. Anyway, another mom-of-teen and I were taking our girls and some of their friends to see the movie opening night, and 2 moms (whose girls are no way old enough to read these books, but whom I unapologetically involved in my obsession - well, let's call a spade a spade, shall we?)
Anyway, we all went to see the movie and we all liked it. It was really fun getting to see the movie with a nearly sold out audience comprised mostly of teen age girls (and yes, a lot of moms, too) who giggled and swooned in all the right places, clapping the first time Edward appeared on screen and hissing when James came into view. Bring on "New Moon", although we might have to hit the theater to see Twilight just one more time first!!

Notice anything missing?

Micah has been working on this first loose tooth for about a week now under the constant supervision and encouragment of his older brother. On the drive to church Sunday morning (with nothing to do but stare out the window and wiggle) the tooth finally came out. Micah was so excited, and got to show everyone at church his new lopsided grin.

He was beyond thrilled this morning upon finding the dollar under his pillow and couldn't wait to pose for a picture and show off the gap!
