In Memory

We would just like to put a small post on the blog in memory of our first family pet, Jedi. Who was put down this past week.
Jedi was born on May 31st, 1997 in Biloxi, Mississippi. We bought him while we were living at Keesler AFB.
In 2004 Jedi was diagnosed with a degenerative disorder that caused him to go permanently blind. Because we were just about to make the life altering change of moving over seas to Germany we thought it would be too hard for Jedi and made the difficult decision to find him a new family.
We asked Rob's Dad and wife, Elaine if they would adopt Jedi with his special needs. They agreed and Jedi became their dog. They took such good care of him and loved him just as much as we did. We couldn't have asked for a happier ending for Jedi.
He was an exceptionally good dog and was loved by many.
Our new puppy, Phantom, does make it easier for us to let go of our first pet. Sarah is pretty heartbroken and our hearts go out to Bob, and especially Elaine, who we know must be equally mourning that little schnauzer!
